University Facilities

The University of Surrey invests heavily in its facilities. The Ivy Arts Centre, the Manor Park student village and the Library & Learning Centre all represent major projects, with the recently-opened School of Health Sciences and student spaces, MySurrey Hive and MySurrey Nest, continuing the trend of investment.

The University benefits from Surrey Sports Park, the £36 million world-class development that’s home to a range of professional teams, athletes and sporting events. There is a range of facilities including a 50-metre swimming pool, climbing wall, tennis and badminton courts, a 120-station health and fitness centre, three multi-purpose sports arenas, squash courts, ten grass pitches, exercise and fitness studio plus a bar and restaurant.

Student accommodation is grouped by band, with band A being the most basic for those on a budget and band F for those who want studio flats. Over half of the rooms have en-suite facilities.

Professional Training Year

The Professional Training placement programme at Surrey is one of the largest in the world, with over 2,300 partner organisations in the UK and overseas. Some of these include IBM, Barclays, Jaguar, KPMG and Warner Bros. The placement experience provides opportunities for any undergraduate student to put their skills into practice and to experience a real working environment, contributing to employability after graduation.

Figures from the 2020 Graduate Outcomes Survey published by the UK’s Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) reveal that the University of Surrey is ranked 12th in the country for graduate employability, with 96% of students in work or further study 15 months after they graduate.
