UK institutions are at the forefront of research into green fuels and Aberystwyth’s Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) is a good example. Aberystwyth University scientists are playing a pivotal role in a £1.8 million project to develop the technology required to plant the energy crop miscanthus from seed, which in turn would mean a massive improvement in terms of producing green fuel faster.
