Aberystwyth University, affectionately known as Aber, is a coastal university located on the west coast of the United Kingdom in Wales. Surrounded by the ocean and natural woodlands make Aber a magical escape to study your degree. With convenient travel links to Birmingham and London, you will find yourself able to enjoy the city on the weekends and the peacefulness of a smaller place to conduct your studies. Various events take part in the town from ice skating along the seafront in the Winter to food truck festivals in the summer.

Aberystwyth offers a social and cultural experience which is the envy of much bigger towns, but they retain the intimate charm and friendliness associated with a campus, community-based university. Aberystwyth is also home to the National Library of Wales, a copyright library that receives a copy of every book published in the UK and is an excellent learning resource for students.

Aberystwyth is in a secure, low-crime area, with insurance costs that are substantially less than those in urban areas. Their students are from all sorts of backgrounds and countries, which contributes greatly to the cosmopolitan nature of the university and the town. All the university accommodation is campus-based and to help you settle in they offer all international students guaranteed accommodation for their whole time at Aberystwyth.

Established in 1872 as the first university institution in Wales, Aberystwyth has long enjoyed a reputation as a friendly university closely integrated with the local community. Aberystwyth is in a Welsh-speaking area of Wales and you will be able to hear a living Celtic language being used for work and leisure without actually having to learn it to study!

With a variety of awards for student satisfaction, including being the Welsh University of the Year (The Times & Sunday Times, Good University Guide 2020). Aberystwyth prides itself in making sure that you will receive an education from lecturers who care about your development and lead you to success with over 97% of Aberystwyth graduates in work or pursuing further study after six months of completing their studies. Student will learn from lecturers conducting world-renowned research ranging from working on the Mars Rover Expedition to using forensic evidence on medieval manuscripts.
