The University of Worcester has its roots in teacher training, beginning in 1946 as the Worcester Teacher Training College. Over the decades, it expanded into a modern, multidisciplinary university. Today, it combines its historic commitment to education with a strong focus on research, sustainability and most of all student experience. The University particularly focuses on Criminology and Arts courses.

In Arts & Humanities, students can explore a wide range of joint courses, combining subjects such as history, literature, creative writing, cultural studies, illustration and animation. The University offers a vibrant and welcoming campus life across its three main sites.  

St John’s Campus, set on a spacious green site just outside the city centre, provides a great environment for study, with lecture halls, on-campus accommodation and open spaces for socializing and outdoor activities. It offers the perfect balance of focus and social life, allowing students to thrive academically while enjoying campus life.

The City Campus, located in the heart of Worcester, is fully integrated into the city, giving students easy access to shops, cafes, restaurants and cultural attractions. This campus hosts many of the university’s business, arts and media facilities.  

Severn Campus is home to the University Arena, the Medical School and extensive sports facilities, including the student gym, designed to support practical, hands-on learning in sports, health, and medical courses.

Students across all campuses benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, including The Hive, Europe’s first joint public and university library, creative studios for media, illustration, and animation, as well as health and wellbeing services like a GP and dentist.
