Study a Journalism degree in the UK

Studying journalism in the UK could be a great opportunity to further your education while receiving international experience in a global field. We have some wonderful programs in the UK where you can specialize in journalism quickly and not have to take any non-related classes. You can do a 3 year bachelor degree or a 1 year graduate degree and save at least one year attending a program in the UK instead of the US. Attending an esteemed program for journalism in the UK would set you apart in the job market. Journalism is a field that is ever changing and international. 

You would receive invaluable experience studying at one of our partner Universities in locations like London or Glasgow, Scotland, which is the media hub of Scotland and becoming a major hub of the entire UK. In Glasgow you can study at the University of Strathclyde where they offer a very specialized Masters in Investigative Journalism where working professionals can upgrade their skills with theoretical and practical experience like how to overturn a wrongful conviction.

Postgraduate Study

If you are looking to study a postgraduate degree in the UK, we work with some of the leading programs in the UK. University of Kent’s Journalism is ranked 1st in the UK for journalism by the The Guardian University Guide 2015. It could be a great program for students who love to have a diverse blended discipline experience because it is encourages interdisciplinary research and has strong links with other academic departments at the University of Kent such as the Law School and the School of History. 

Another fantastic MA program that you we work with is at the University of Lincoln which has a close working relationship with the BBC. Attending Lincoln University also gives students the opportunity to work  at Lincoln’s award-winning newspaper The Lincolnshire Echo, especially if you are particularly interested in print journalism. 

Undergraduate Study 

Studying a Bachelors degree in journalism in the UK can also give you a wonderful specialized experience in journalism. We work with some of the top Universities such as City University in London that have a highly ranked media department.  You can study a range of specialized bachelor programs such Investigative, Science, Financial, or even Political Journalism. They also have a very high employment rate once students complete the bachelor degree there. You can study at another of our London Universities at the University on Roehampton where you can do joint journalism bachelor degrees with a language such as French and Journalism or Spanish and Journalism. 

So if you are interested in a blended modern language program with journalism, Roehampton has the program for you. Another fantastic partner University that we work with is Bournemouth University whose Journalism BA was the first in the UK to be triple accredited. Recent graduates of this program at Bournemouth are now working journalists for CNN and BBC.

Film/TV Blog

Do you love British TV and film? Why not study your bachelor of masters degree at one of our excellent UK Universities. You can study your degree in the land where film icons like Alfred Hitchcock were born and bred. We work with some fantastic schools all over the UK that has wonderful programs in Film and Television, whether you want to study practically in production or theoretically in film or television studies, we can find the right program for you.

Postgraduate Study

If you are looking to do a postgraduate degree in the UK, University of East Anglia has a great some great one-year Masters degrees in film studies or film, television, and creative practice. If you are looking to get practical production experience, the course at UEA will prepare you with skills that you will be able to apply in production careers with hands-on on experience in production equipment.  If you are more interested in film studies, UEA was one of the first British Universities to develop the study of cinema and television.

If you would prefer to attend a school that is more focused on the Arts altogether, then Falmouth University would be a great option for you. The MA Film and Television at Falmouth is unique because it specifically addresses diversity and crossover or film and television culture. You will also be able to be mentored by industry professionals.

Undergraduate Study 

If you are looking to study at the bachelor level, the film school at Falmouth has one of the highest levels of student satisfaction with 95% in 2014. Gradates of Falmouth’s Film BA has gone on to work for Disney, HBO and Warner Bros, among others! Some recent films that feature Falmouth graduates on the crew are the films Belle and Cinderella.  Falmouth as has work place relations available at Warp Films, who is the UK’s leading production company.  Another fantastic program that could be a great fit for you if you want to go into the film and television industry is the University of York MA Digital Film and Television degree.

The Creative Skillset, the UK film and TV industry sector skills council accredit the course. York has the highest quality of equipment with a £24 million departmental building that hosts state of the art studios.  Another unique program is at Queen Mary University of London, which as the MA Documentary Practice for students who are particularly interested in entering the film industry as a documentary filmmaker.
