The majority of Nottingham's bachelor’s degrees are 3 years in duration and the taught masters degrees are 12 months in duration, providing accelerated entry to the world of work or graduate/doctoral studies. Scholarships for excellence

University of Nottingham rewards excellence and encourage global development through their international scholarships for outstanding masters and research students from a wide variety of countries. The North America Masters Scholarship provides 25 scholarships of 25% towards tuition fees for students from the USA and Canada.

Undergraduate students studying for the IB Diploma have the opportunity to be considered for the IB Diploma Excellence Scholarship, which rewards international students with outstanding attainment.

A global reputation for research

The latest Research Excellence Framework (2014) ranked Nottingham 8th in the UK for research power, with more than 97% of research recognized internationally, while more than 80% of Nottingham's research is ranked as "world-leading" or "internationally excellent."

This research has a lasting and growing impact around the world, ranging from the development of MRI technology to new solutions for global food security and finding new ways to identify and eradicate modern slavery. The university's academics have received Nobel Prizes in medicine (Sir Peter Mansfield, 2003), economics (Sir Clive Granger, 2003) and chemistry (Sir Fraser Stoddart, 2016).

The £40m David Ross Sports Village boasts world-class facilities and coaches and is home to over 70 sports and nearly 120 teams. Elite athletes join Nottingham from all over the world, including from colleges such as Harvard University, University of Southern California and University of California-Los Angeles and there is the potential to be awarded sports scholarships of up to £8,000.
