Exeter has been named the top university in the South West in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019. The University also rose two places to 12th nationally in the overall ranking which was released in September, 2018.
The league table cites Exeter’s increased spending on student facilities and services, improved staffing levels and one of the highest degree completion rates in the country as being behind the University’s rise in the rankings.
The guide also highlights Exeter as having one of the highest numbers of student volunteers at any UK institution, while all students are offered tuition in foreign languages and career management skills are also built in to their studies.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 ranking is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
