Edinburgh Napier University is home to forward-thinking people inspired by the world around them. With around 19,000 students, the university is one of Scotland’s biggest, attracting 9,000 international students from more than 110 different countries.

The university has excellent links with industry – students learn from academics and industry professionals who are experts in their fields. Courses have been developed in partnership with employers and over 30 professional and statutory bodies. Experienced staff also feed their expertise into course development and teaching.

Six schools offer undergraduate and graduate programs accredited by more than 100 professional bodies. The schools are:

Edinburgh Napier is the only UK higher education institution to offer a program, titled Confident Futures, which develops employability skills for the workplace. The university places great emphasis on fostering entrepreneurship skills and hosts an incubator space called the Moffat Center, which supports students and graduates who want to set up and run their own businesses. The Moffat Centre has supported over 1,200 students since 2004, of which 253 businesses have started up and 158 are still active.

The university is based in Edinburgh, the ‘Best City in the UK’ (2014 Daily Telegraph Travel Awards), the fourth most beautiful city in the world (Rough Guide 2015) and the capital city of Scotland. Edinburgh Napier University is proud to have invested £100m to provide some of the very best teaching and learning facilities in Scotland. Based over three campuses, they offer cutting-edge facilities and resources, from state-of-the-art recording studios to multimedia language labs, an environmental chamber to a 500-seat 24-hour computing center, and excellent research labs and sports centers. There are 1,600 PCs and 200 Macs on campus and students can access more than 260,000 books, journals and reference materials. Students are also able to get face-to-face IT support. 

The university’s support services will help students make the most of their time at Edinburgh Napier. There is an international support team dedicated to advising and supporting international students before arrival in the UK. Once enrolled, students will be able to take advantage of academic and study support, which includes in-session support for all international students to help with academic English and to allow them to become more familiar with the expectations of the UK education system. Students can also access a range of personal support services including counseling and mental wellbeing, faith and spirituality, and disability and inclusion.

The university’s careers service provides a range of support services and advice to students including one-to-one sessions, help with resumes, access to current graduate vacancies and more. Students can also take advantage of the study abroad opportunities and study for a trimester or year abroad at a partner institution.

For students whose existing qualifications are not suitable for immediate entry to Edinburgh Napier University, Edinburgh International College (EIC) offers an alternative pathway to study.

[EN]GAGE is the university’s state-of-the-art fitness facilities offering affordable student memberships. Facilities include a fitness suite, sports hall and access to weekly classes. Students looking for team sports can join a sports club through Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association (ENSA) while those looking for something different can join one of the many other societies on offer. ENSA is run by students, for students, and is dedicated to looking out for students’ best interests and supporting their needs throughout their university experience.

Accommodation is available for over 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students across five sites, with rent from £105 per week. All accommodation is self-catered and situated in the center of Edinburgh. The university’s accommodation office can support and advise students on private accommodation too.
