Queen Margaret University
Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh was established in 1875 and has around 6500 students on campus, including students from more than 70 different countries. They are proud to be able to offer a friendly and supportive environment for their students.
The university offers a range of specialized, professionally relevant degree-level courses covering many specializations within healthcare, business and management, social sciences, drama and theater arts. Their most popular programs amongst American students are Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Drama & Performance, Occupational Therapy, Public Relations, International Health, Nutrition, Arts, Festival and Cultural Management, as well as Art, Music & Dance Therapies. QMU's courses are developed to prepare students for fulfilling careers: 93.8% of QMU graduates find employment or go on to further training within 6 months of graduating.
In 2007, they relocated to a new university campus on the southeast side of Edinburgh, with excellent transport links to the city center. In addition to the main teaching facilities, the campus also includes 800 en-suite student residences (the university guarantees on-campus accommodation for all international students in their first year), a student union building and excellent indoor and outdoor sport facilities.
The university participates in the Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships in conjunction with the Scottish Government offering a limited number of scholarships specifically for students from Canada (please speak to an Across The Pond Advisor for more information on scholarships).
