Swansea University has been ranked in the top 200 of "most international universities" in the 2016 Times Higher Education world ranking, and are 161st in the list of world universities. Additionally, Swansea's Computer Science programme was ranked 7th overall in the UK and 1st in Wales by the 2016 Times Good University Guide.

The university's success no doubt arises from the excellent work of its scholars, many of whom have recently won awards.  In the College of Human and Health Sciences, Dr. Alan Wilson recently received an OBE in the New Year Honours list, while Ffion Kelly-Rees, an Audiology student, was the recipient of the 2016 British Academy of Audiology (BAA) Lisa Bayliss Award.
